RADview-HPOV for ATM Applications – Overview 1-3
Topology and Protocol
RADview-HPOV can simultaneously monitor multiple nets of ATM agent systems.
The communication with the managed ATM agent passes through the V.24/RS-232
communication port of the host workstation, or through a dial-up modem.
The protocol of communication is SNMP over SLIP. The first directly connected
ATM agent serves as a router to the other ATM agents in the net through their
communication links, or their CL cards.
System Security
The management system is secured from unauthorized users. In order to enter the
system, you must first enter a login name and then a password. The user is able to
start HP OpenView only after password validation.
Management system security is provided through the standard security mechanism
of a UNIX system.
