Non-Existing Intervals
For each requested interval that does not exist, the Statistical Information
Collecting Application writes -1s for each variable for the specific interface.
Change of Interval During Collection
The agent handles interval switching. Meaning, if the NMS asked for intervals 1–4,
and during the creation of the file of interval 1 an interval switch was performed,
than the agent will in fact upload interval 2 and send it to the NMS as interval 1.
Change of Network Management Station Time
If the Network Management Station time is changed, it will cause a loss or
duplication of intervals the next time the files are written to. After that there will be
no problem. The loss of intervals occurs when the Network Management Station
time is set back. The duplication of intervals occurs when the Network
Management Station time is set ahead.
The tables for VC and VP contain too many variables to be able to get them in one
SNMP request. Therefore, several files will be created and a file grouping utility is
provided. For the PM tables there may be forward and/or backward directions. If
this table is requested, there should be space in the file for both directions, and if
only one is defined, the Statistical Information Collecting Application inserts -1s for
the other. Files will be automatically grouped at the end of the day.
Setting variables
The application uses two files, which contains the statistics interval table’s names
and the corresponding variables. The files names are:

Ace-2002

/opt/MNG/MNGVIEWHP/WAN/StatConfig/ac0_NetStatisticsVariablesList
Since every uploaded interval file contains all the statistical information that is
relevant for that interval, the application doesn't have control on which tables and
variables the agent send. Therefore these files are used only for presenting the
variables names.
