IMOD and SMOD Cards

Modem cards in the LRS-24 hub operate opposite or in conjunction with:

• A standalone modem.

• Another card

• A rack.

You zoom in on IMOD and SMOD modem cards from the LRS-24 View window, as

described in

Selecting Modems/Launching

All other modem-card operations are performed directly in the Zoom view.

The Zoom view displays both the card and modem, and indicates which unit is

near-end or far-end (as shown in

Figure 3-16

and

Figure 3-17

). The Zoom view

always displays the selected card as the near-end modem on the left side of the

view.

When an SMOD card is zoomed, RADview/TDM checks the Control parameter to

connect it. If it is Terminal then the following message appears:

No connection with SMOD.
